Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival and Welcome to Marrakech
Your driver will meet you at Menara Airport and transfer you to your Riad in the Medina. Use the afternoon to rest or take your first walk through the souks. In the evening, head to Jemaa el-Fna square to watch the snake charmers, storytellers, and food stalls come to life.
Day 2
Marrakech to Dades Valley
Depart at 8:00 AM, winding up the Tizi n'Tichka pass. Stop to visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a famous filming location for Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After lunch in Ouarzazate, continue through the Valley of Roses to reach the Dades Valley for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 3
Dades Gorges to Merzouga
After breakfast, drive to the Todra Gorges for a short hike between the massive rock walls. Continue south through Erfoud (the fossil capital) until the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi appear on the horizon. Leave your luggage, mount your camels, and ride into the sunset to reach your Berber camp for a campfire dinner and drum music.
Day 4
Exploring the Merzouga Region
Wake up early to catch the desert sunrise. Today is dedicated to exploring the Sahara by 4x4. Visit a nomadic family living in a traditional goat-hair tent, check out the old M'fis mines, and stop in Khamlia village to listen to spiritual Gnawa music performed by locals. Sleep in a hotel right on the dune line.
Day 5
Merzouga to Ouarzazate
Leave the desert behind and head towards Rissani to explore its authentic traditional market. The drive then takes you through the arid, volcanic landscapes of Alnif and into the spectacular Draa Valley. Follow the trail of a million palm trees until you reach Ouarzazate for the evening.
Day 6
Ouarzazate to Marrakech
Start the morning by visiting the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Film Studios. Begin the ascent back over the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying different perspectives of the Berber villages. You will arrive back in Marrakech in the late afternoon, leaving you time for a final dinner in the city.
Day 7
Marrakech City Tour & Departure
Enjoy a guided half-day city tour focusing on historical monuments like the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Koutoubia Mosque. Depending on your flight time, you can squeeze in a quick visit to the Majorelle Gardens before your transfer to the airport.
